Glenn L. Jordan, Sr.
April 15, 2018
Heaven has gained a new entertainer, Glenn Jordan, Sr., who passed away April 15, 2018, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was born December 19, 1927, in Runnells, Iowa, to Lawrence and Taza Jordan.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper during World War II. He worked for Gordon’s for 39 years and Mail Contractors of America for 10 years.
Glenn, who was also known as Louie or Vern, had a great sense of humor and will be remembered for his ornery nature and the many practical jokes he played. To know him was to love him.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Joy Jordan; son, Glenn Jordan, Jr.; bonus daughters, Michelle (Darrin) Dodds and Angela Crees; as well as two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth; granddaughter, Valerie Tulk; two brothers, two sisters, and his parents-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Joy, Sorry for your loss. What an irony it is that the adventures you shared together make the memories more special and more sad at the same time.

Joy and family...so sorry to read this sad news, but how many times have you heard no more pain, etc., yes that is true but the only the ones that have felt the loss know how empty one can feel. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal ! Sending our love and keeping you all in our prayers.
