Service Details

Neil Hellmers, 70, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Burial will follow at 3:30pm at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Madrid, IA. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
Neil was born February 6, 1938 in Ottawa, IL to Jennie and Jacob Hellmers.
He served in the US Army. Neil worked at Rock Island Railroad, Frenchway cleaners and was supply/ lunchroom manager at Link Associates. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family.
Neil is survived by his loving wife, Marie: his children, Darrin (Marsha), Jason (Shawn) Hellmers, Barb (Alvin) Hall and Debbie Hough; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; his loving sister, Minnie Ann Antram. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Daniel and one granddaughter, Laura Jo.
