Ramona Eileen Dilks, 75, passed away on April 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on July 10, 1942, to William and Olga Reitz.
Ramona enjoyed watching Iowa State football and basketball, along with Atlanta Braves baseball. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, making crafts, and gardening, along with a love for Santas. Ramona enjoyed watching the natural wildlife in her yard, and had a love for all animals big and small, especially her pets, Gabrielle, Spook, Heidi, Sadie, Sophie, Panda Bear, and Gisele.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Bryan (Kay), Debbie Lovelace, Karl (Jacque), Denise (Blake), Kevin (Jana), Jeff, Kevin Jameson (Fay); grandchildren, Brenda (Sam), Christina (Phil), Jimmy, Chris, Shauna (David), Sara (Adam), Lauryn (Brandon), Tierra, Charlee (Aaron), Cheyenne, Cassidy, Shawn, Dakota, Marjorie, Gabriel, Kyle (Christy), Blake, Klara, Karly, Keefer, Olivia; great grandchildren, Shane, Kaleb, Savannah, Owen, Gavin, Tegan, Eddie, Kyle, Hazel, Elaina, Ella, Owen, Gunner, Palmer; brother Robert (MaryLou); sisters Nancy and Linda; and other loving family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Jerry; her parents; sister Kay; brother-in-laws Jerry and Ray; son and daughter-in-law Terry (Lisa); grandson Dustin; and granddaughter Brandi.
Ramona’s family would like to give a special thanks to the gentle and caring staff of Mercy Hospice for their wonderful support and loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, in Des Moines. Burial will take place at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.
