Kenneth "Kenny" Israel

Kenneth, 65 passed away Thursday April 5th at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born April 20, 1952 to Robert Israel and Dorothy Haig in Newton, IA.
Kenny enjoyed his occupation helping people as an insurance agent for over 35 years, fishing, watching sports, camping, spending time with his children. His greatest treasures were his grandchildren which he loved very much.
Kenny is survived by his daughter Katherine Pote (Vaughn) of Des Moines, his grandchildren Andrew Lewis (Liz), Ashlee Lewis (Pete), Jordan Lewis, Kascee Lewis, Lili Israel, Lucia Israel (Daniel), Mateo Israel, AnaKatrina Tamariz-Israel, Torrie Marchant, Selena Tamariz-Israel, and Faith Pote. His great grandchild Alejandro Gomez-Israel. Son in law Paul Tamariz. Ex Son in law James Lewis. His twin brother Keith Israel Sr (Mary), his sisters Beverly Terrell (Kurt) and Kathy Friou (Jim). Many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 39 ½ years DeeAnn Israel, his daughter Dori Israel-Tamariz, Mother Dorothy Haig, Father Robert Israel as well as many other beloved relatives.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 12th at 10 a.m. at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11th at the funeral home.

Ashlee, so sorry to hear about your grandfather. He helped me with insurance many years ago and what a nice way he had with people. Thanks for letting me know. I will keep you in my thoughts.
