Thomas Harper

Thomas B. Harper, 60, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Kavanagh on Grand, in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 6:oo p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Tom was born September 28, 1947 in Des Moines to Robert and Jane Harper. Tom married Nola Strawn on June 21, 1972. He owned and operated Harper Automotive. Tom loved being with his family. He was an avid Hawkeye fan. Tom especially enjoyed playing golf. He had a fondness for cooking. He was very attached to his cats, Butterscotch and Cleopatra.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Nola; his children, Eric (Joyce), Stacy (Steve) Stroud, Austin (Kristin); his parents, Robert and Jane Harper; his sister, Monica (Jan) Post; his brother, Greg (Cherie) Helms; his grandchildren, Ashley, Megan and Ryan Stroud, Alex and Murphy Harper and Ella Grace Harper; along with 2 nieces and 1 nephew as well as many friends who will miss him.
