Robert Eugene Andersen Jr. “Beef”, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 29th, 2018, in Des Moines, IA.

Rob was born September 13th, 1972, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Pamela Andersen. He was a graduate of Southeast Polk High School, Class of ’90 and was elected as the homecoming king. Rob was an avid supporter of Southeast Polk Athletics, a founding member of the Southeast Polk Youth Tackle Football League, a participant in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, and a member of Iron Rams. Rob was employed at Wells Fargo for 17 years where he was commonly referred to by his peers as Big Data. Rob was a passionate Parrot Head and enjoyed running, playing with his American Bulldog Barley Hops, and traveling to visit his sons and to celebrate their achievements.

Rob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laura Andersen; children, Zachary (Rachal) Andersen, and Ethan (Carolyn) Andersen; and sibling, Shannon Andersen. Rob was a devoted husband, incredible father, caring brother, and loving uncle.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Andersen; grandfather, Bill Howard; and grandmother, Bonnie Howard.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th St SW, Altoona, IA, 50009. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4th, also at Lutheran Church of the Cross.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Rob to support sponsorships for military families and the Southeast Polk Wrestling program.
