Donna Jean Sponsler

Donna Jean Sponsler, 77, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Donna was born February 20, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa to Jacob and Wilma (Keeling) Sponsler. She graduated from East High School in 1959, and began working for Employers Mutual as a key punch operator. She retired from the State of Iowa in Data Entry after over 25 years of service. Donna was a member of Berean Assembly of God and loved her church family. She maintained an active membership and enjoyed singing in the choir. She liked reading and adult coloring books.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Greenfield; niece, Renee (Scott) Lozinski; sister, Linda (Don) Coe; nephews, Matthew and Tony Coe; and her dear friends, Lorraine McNeeley, Georgia Ochoa, and Phyllis Hoisington.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Wilma Sponsler; grandparents, Clarence and Alice Keeling and Mary Green; and her beloved cat, Bon Bon.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Berean Assembly of God, 5299 E University Ave, Pleasant Hill with burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to service.
