Sandra Kay Adams

Sandra Kay Adams, passed away at her home March 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 74.

Sandra was born July 25, 1943 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to James and Verla Garton. She worked in logistics at Strategic Wave. Sandra enjoyed gardening and traveling. She loved to cook and published a cookbook compiled of her family and friends’s special recipes. Sandra loved playing Bingo the 1st Friday of every month with her girlfriends. Above all, she loved spending time with her granddaughter Shae, her “Huckleberry”.

Sandra is survived by her children, John (Rachel) Adams and Jame’e Adams; grandchildren, Katherine Grace and John Michael Adams and Shae MaeAnn Poortinga; her beloved dogs, Sophia Rose and Harley; a host of extended family and dear friends.

The family will greet friends Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or Unity Point Health Hospice in loving memory of Sandra.
