Almyra L. Jones

Almyra L. Jones, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill after services.

Almyra was born March 1, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Etta (Comstock) Hyde. She was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. Almyra enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her interests included going to the casino, garage sales, spending time outdoors, and travelling to Florida.

She is survived by her children Bonnie Wright, Rhonda (David) Jones and Fred (Pam) Jones, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary Rose.

Almyra was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, son Ronnie, daughter Breonna, and granddaughter Tara.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.
