Amelia Webb

Amelia Webb passed away surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on March 11, 2018, at Parkridge Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, at the age of 95. She was born October 31, 1922, in Des Moines, to William and Dollie Dearden.

Amelia graduated from East High School in 1940 and was united in marriage to Robert Webb on December 19, 1943.

As her children were growing, she was active in P.T.A. and was President of Willard P.T.A. from 1960-1962. During her tenure, she protested, petitioned, and was responsible for getting the traffic lights at E. Dean Avenue. She enjoyed volunteer work at Lutheran Hospital and helping people. Amelia loved her family, music, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Amelia is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Alan) Delpierre of Des Moines and Peggi (Gary) Carlstedt of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Aaron Smith of Des Moines, Autumn (Rob) Green of Des Moines, Kristen (Todd) Johnson of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Ryan (Kelsey) Carlstedt of Altoona; step grandson, Michael Delpierre of Des Moines; her great-grandchildren, Trinity and Tristin Green, Quinn and Harris Johnson, and baby boy Carlstedt due in August; as well as other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Komen for the Cure in loving memory of Amelia.
