James Rohrick

Devoted father and husband James Richard “Dick” Rohrick passed away on June 4th at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, June 10 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave, Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 6 -8 pm Monday, June 9 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Dick was born on October 17, 1930 in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Fred and Mary Florence (Nalley) Rohrick. In 1948, Dick joined the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of services as a Radioman First Class. He later had a 13-year career with the United States Postal Service, working as a maintenance control clerk until his retirement in 1990.
Dick is survived by his wife, Linda, his sons Jeff and Rick and daughters Debbie, Barbie, Charlotte, and Beth, as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary; four sisters, Collette Barker, Mary Ann Hanika, Ramona Rohrick and Charlotte O’Loughlin; two brothers, Patrick and Donald; and nephew Gary Hanika.
