Khanh Kham, 79, died Sunday evening at Methodist Medical Center from heart and respiratory complications. He is survived by wife, Thong Cam Kham; daughters: Phanh (Leuth) Phiathep, Sommay Soulinthavong, Sone (Thane) Lovan, Somkong (Nib) Vong, Monick Tuon, Somphit Kham, and sons: Khamla (Amla) Loren, Walter (Pepci) Kham; 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kham was born in Mouang Lo, Vietnam on January 01, 1929. He moved his family to Des Moines, Iowa from Southeast Asia in the fall of 1975 so his children could have a better education and quality of life. He was an active member of Asian Church of the Open Bible and a couple grassroots Taidam organizations.
Funeral services for Mr. Kham will be held on Friday at 5:30PM at First Church of the Open Bible (2200 Beaver Ave, DSM). Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Khanh Kham.
