Anne Rutenbeck

Anne Rutenbeck, 54, of Altoona, died Saturday at Iowa Methodist Hospital of breast cancer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Grace Church, 4200 E. 25th Street in Des Moines; visitation will be Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place Avon Cemetery.
Anne was born December 2, 1953, in Fort Dodge. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1976. Anne married Don Rutenbeck May 4, 1996. She worked for Iowa Health Systems as a registered nurse from 1976-2000 and Altoona Family Care until her retirement in 2004. Anne was a member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association and Grace Church. She was an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoyed animals and spending time with her family.
Anne is survived by her husband, Don of Altoona; her step-daughters, Ahnada (Dean) Stephenson of Des Moines, Carissa (Steve) Lahey of Ankeny, and Nikki (Doug) Vogel of Pleasant Hill; her parents, Chester and Ileen Youngren of Lehigh; her granddaughter, Leilani; and her sisters, Teresa (Bill) Brecht of St. Charles, MO and Elaine Winchell of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Youngren.
