Frances Grafton

Frances Grafton, 66, of Waukee died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008 at Windsor United Methodist Church, 6222 University Avenue in Des Moines; visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Burial will take place in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Fran was born April 14, 1942 in Des Moines. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1960. She married Chuck Grafton on June 29, 1962. Fran worked for Principal Financial Group as an accountant, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed traveling, needlework and spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her husband of 45 years, Chuck; her daughter, Carol (Mark) Meyer of Waukee; her grandchildren, Meg and Ben; her brother, Bob (Jeanne) Pierce of Portales, NM; her sister, Mary (Martin) Hircock of Perkins, MO; and her father-in-law, George Grafton of Forsyth, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Iona Pierce, and her mother-in-law, Ruth Grafton.
