Harold J. Leslie

Harold James Leslie, 84, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Taylor House Hospice from heart failure. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Maxwell Christian Church on Main Street in Maxwell.
Harold was born August 21, 1923 to Ira and Mabel Leslie in the Des Moines area. He served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. Harold was active with the Des Moines Mobile Emergency Rescue Team and did security work in the Metro area. His last job was as a truck driver for Bruce Motor Freight and then MidAmerican.
Harold enjoyed bird watching, spending time with the grandchildren; and playing with the great-grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Bonnie Leslie; children, Connie (Mick) Eblen, Kathy (Terry) Henning, and James Leslie; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean and Lois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Della, June, and Marie.
