Helen Fickes

Helen Fickes, 90, died at Scottish Rite Park Thursday, May 29, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday June 2, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at the Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Helen was born October 8, 1917 in Des Moines to James and Esther McGrath. She graduated from East High School in 1935. Helen worked as a computer operator for Allied Mutual for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Baldwin Patterson Post 274. Helen loved to dance.
Helen is survived by her nieces and nephews, Richard N. Erickson, June C. Goodman, Jeanne A. Fisher, Curtis C. Erickson, Norma Jean Sandoval, Robert L. Fickes, Clyde W. Fickes, Marda J. Fickes, Mona A. Fickes and John K. Fickes. She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Clyde R. Fickes.
