Bracy Skidmore

Bracy Skidmore, 73, of Norwalk left this earth May 27, 2008 to be with our Lord and Savior, knowing God’s promise of no more pain and suffering. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday May 29, 2008 at the Crossroads Church, 8203 Beardsley Street, Norwalk, IA with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 S.W. 9th Street.
Bracy is the beloved husband of Dessie (Babe), father of Tina L. Murphy (Mike), and grandfather to two step grandkids Jennifer and Michael Murphy. He leaves behind four sisters and two brothers; Aline Helton of Morristown, TN, Lorene Martin of McHenry, IL, Bardine Killgore (George) of Lilbrun, GA, Shurdine Curtis (Gus) of Dyersburg, TN, Casey Skidmore (Minnie) of Tuscumbia, AL, Alva Skidmore Jr. (Janice) of Elizabethtown, KY and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Sr. and Snobia, his sisters Maxine and Darlene, and his brother Tracy.
Bracy retired from Mid American Energy in 1991. He delivered Rx part time for Southridge HyVee for approximately 3 years and loved every minute with the customers.
He also picked up bread and rolls and delivered daily to Southside Senior Center approximately 5 years. He was a member of Crossroads Church in Norwalk.
