Gene Lincoln

Gene E. Lincoln, 78, died Monday, May 26, 2008 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, with burial at Newton Memorial Park in Newton, Iowa. The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home.
Gene was born December 20, 1929 to Helen and William Lincoln. He served in the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He retired as an Engineer at Des Moines General Hospital. He loved fishing, boating, birds and other animals, and was great at playing practical jokes.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; his son, David; his 3 step children; 3 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; one great grandchild; his mother, Helen; and his dogs, Bubba and Carter. He was preceded in death by his father, William.
