David A. Sikes, Jr.

David Allen Sikes, Jr., 31, passed away at his home with his children on Saturday, May 24, 2008. He was born to Sally Turner and David Sikes, Sr. on March 20, 1977. David loved his career with A.J. Allen Plumbing in Des Moines, and was also a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #33. David was active with Grandview Little League and the East High Junior Wrestling program.
David is survived by his children, Alyssa Miranda Sikes and David Daniel Sikes of Des Moines; his mother, Sally Turner and his father, David (Cathy) Sikes Sr., all of Des Moines; his three sisters, Danielle Sikes-Gillum, Crystal Sikes (Mike) and Jennifer Breese (Mike), all of Des Moines; his four brothers, Troy Deaton, Matt Schooley, John Wright and Jared Wright, all of Des Moines; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Sikes of South Dakota, Anna Anderson of Des Moines, Sally and Mareo “Tony” Dellaca of Des Moines and Les Turner of Des Moines.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to establish a fund for David’s children.
