Paul West Sr.

Paul M. West Sr., 69, died, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at home. Paul was born on July 27, 1938 in Des Moines.
Paul was a life long resident of Des Moines, graduating from East High and attending Grand View College. Paul’s interests in life included his wife and family, his church where he has been a member for over 50 years and served as an elder, camping, fishing and gardening. Paul also enjoyed cooking for his family and took much pride in his homemade bread.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon Ruemper West; sons, Paul Jr. (Luann) and Tim (Jana); daughter, Kristen Robinson (Jeffrey); 6 grandchildren; brothers, Frank Jr. (Jean) and Ralph and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence and brothers, John and Bob.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 321 Euclid Ave., Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Highland Park Presbyterian Church in loving memory of Paul.
