Charles L. Jackson Jr., 88, of Castle Rock, CO. died on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Brookside Inn Nursing Home in Castle Rock, CO. There will be a visitation held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Burns United Methodist Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Charles was born in Higginsville, MO. on March 11, 1920 to Charles Sr. and Louisa Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired carpenter after forty one years of the carpenters union. He was a musician and was an organist while in the naval choir. He enjoyed gardening and interior decorating.
Charles is survived by his children, Rev. Donald Jackson, Gene Jackson, Larry Jackson, Gary Jackson, Joyce Obregon-Pigford & Brenda Cox; twenty two grandchildren & a host of great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn LeVora Jackson, & sons Rev. William Jackson, Alfred Jackson, Dean Jackson & daughter Abbie Jackson.
