Cecile Ligouri

Cecile I. Ligouri, 104, of Des Moines died Friday at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, May 5, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines; visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Cory Grove Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
Cecile was born September 11, 1903 in Sac City. She was a member of the Tornado Twisters and the Merry Mixers square dancing clubs; until her death she was the oldest surviving member of any square dancing club in America. Cecile enjoyed her lake home and fishing, bowling, golfing, roller skating, and square dancing.
Cecile is survived by her son, Charles (Doris) of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Jeff Roberts (Tina Goheen), Carye (Eric) McCormick, and Robin (Brad) Horsch all of Des Moines; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, Kavanagh House on 56th in loving memory of Cecile.
