Anna McSwain

Anna M. McSwain, 83, died Friday, December 15, 2006. Services will be held Wednesday, December 20 at 12 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery. Anna's family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Anna was born January 22, 1923 in Pulaski, IA to Edward and Ilie (Decker) Wheaton. She was married to Virgil H. McSwain on June 3, 1940 and lived in various places in California and Iowa until 1959 when they moved to Des Moines. She was a homemaker and was very active in her church, Fellowship Tabernacle, for many years.
Anna is survived by her husband; sons, Robert (Carole) McSwain of Puyallup, WA, Michael (Jane) McSwain of Des Moines, Roy McSwain of Des Moines; her daughter, Carol (Ray) Fretz of Tama, IA; daughter-in-law, Shirley McSwain of Altoona; two half-brothers; five half-sisters; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, sons, James McSwain and Paul McSwain, a brother, Arlie Wheaton and a half-brother, O. L. Wheaton.
