Gerald Elliott, age 84, passed away on March 2, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home. Jerry was born on July 18, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to Wayne and Edith (Wallace) Elliott, Sr.
Jerry proudly served his country in the Unites States Air Force. He worked for Meredith Publishing Company for 43 years, and served as their Secretary Treasurer of the Union. He loved spending time with his family, when his kids where younger he spent countless hours coaching their sports! Summers where spent traveling on family vacations. That love of travel followed him into retirement where Molly and Jerry traveled to Texas for the winters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Molly; children, Michael (Eydie Fitzgerald) Elliott, Andy (Mary) Elliott, Erin (Tom) Douglas, and Betty Elliott; grandchildren, Molly, Morgan, Adam, Darby, Libby, Ava, Josh, Amy, and Ashley; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bill, Dale, Dick Elliott, and Phyllis Daniels; and granddaughter, Allison Elliott.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E 42nd St, Des Moines, IA. Burial will take place at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery, West Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Jerry.

Molly and family: Words cant express are feelings of the loss of Jerry.
We will miss his service as we are still in South Texas for the winter.
We had many happy memories sitting in the driveway watching the
kids grow up and the dreams of tomorrow as what they would do and what was ahead for us.
