Craig A. Heller, 52, of Des Moines died Thursday, May 1, 2008. Craig was born on July 19, 1955 was an East High graduate, class of 1973, and a veteran of the USMC. He was an avid enthusiast of guitar and music and enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball throughout his entire life.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Craig is survived by his daughter Jannae (Keith) Thomas, his granddaughter; Jolissa, his sister; Janice (Scott) Shannon and brother; John Heller, all of Des Moines. His granddaughter Jolissa was the ‘puppy’ he adored. He has seven nieces and nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary and brother Steve .
Memorial Contributions may be made to East Des Moines Girls Softball.

Craig will be missed by all who had a chance to be a part of his life. He somehow was always able to make you laugh or bring a smile to your face. Even though our paths went in different directions, there was a time a few years back when he showed up on my door step. I could see the humbleness in his eyes and change that had taken place in his life. We visited for sometime and after that I knew he was headed to great place. I will never forget that day. He, again brought a smile to my face. We hugged and then he left, we never crossed paths again, but he touched my life that day. He will truly be missed. He takes a piece of all of us with him. I am truly blessed to of known him.

I know Craig will be missed by all of his family.
His little Sis Jannae was the apple of his eye. She will always carry in her heart love and memories of her dad Craig.
