Bonnie Hays

Bonnie Joy Hays, 63, of Des Moines died Thursday morning at Mercy Medical Center of a heart ailment. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a son. She is survived by four brothers, Luckie, Bobbie, Frankie, and Sammie of Des Moines; and two sisters, Gracie Byrd of Des Moines, and Connie McDonald of North Fort Myers Florida. She is also survived by her sons Gabriel Pratt, Todd Hays, her daughter Carla Harlan, and six grandchildren. There will be no services. Friends and family may come to Hamilton's Funeral Home at 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines for visitation on Saturday, May 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00
SHE HAD A HEART
She had a heart, without a doubt
She really knew what love’s about
Without complaining she’d always give
We could all learn a lesson from the way she lived
She always had a smile for me
No matter how rough her day would be
And it was never just a disguise
Because it also shone through her eyes
Now Jesus took her home to forever live
But she still had something else to give
She gave us all a piece of her heart
So we would never be apart
