Mary Lou McLain

Mary Lou McLain, 76, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on February 16, 2018. She was born September 14, 1941 in California.

Mom lived most of her life in California and was primarily a homemaker. She moved to Iowa eight months ago to live with my family and me. She was a huge part of our day-to-day life and we were blessed to care for her as her health declined. Mom enjoyed sitting for hours doing difficult jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and watching Law and Order. She was delighted to stand at the back door watching the snow – a rarity in California. Mom was able to see and share the love of our family. She saw how well loved I am by my husband, the family we have created, and to love and be loved by all of us. God had a plan bigger than I could see and I am thankful for the time we had together. My Mom was LOVED and will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Antoinette (Lynn) Garwood; granddaughters, Trina (Daniel) Trindle, Ali (Josh) Dalton, and Alivia Garwood; great-grandchildren, Anabelle and Penelope Trindle, Kara Gillis, and Nolan Dalton. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her daughter, Debora Pizzaruso.
