Jacob Dunagan, 31, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jacob was born January 3, 1987, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Cheryl and Rocky Dunagan. He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Dunagan; sister, Ashley Conner; brother, John (Tiffany) Dunagan; four nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rocky and step-father, Richard Marshall.
Jacob was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams to follow were the Boston Red Sox, Iowa Hawkeyes, Oregon Ducks and Chicago Cubs. Jacob had a great sense of humor and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed trivia, word puzzles and memorizing the Bible. Jacob also liked gardening.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 16th, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17th, also at Hamilton’s, and will conclude with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with expenses.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I never knew Jake well, but somehow it seems that I did. May God be very close to your family and give you strength and love to get through this time of immense grief. My heart aches for you. I will be remembering you in my prayers.

My heart hurts for family and friends of this gentle lovable man. Jake's smile lit up any room he entered, yet behind it was a man full of pain. May you all be comforted knowing he's finally free of his demons and in the house of his Lord and Saviour. God bless all that Jake touched over his years amongst us!

So sorry to hear of Jake's passing, He was a close friend of our son Mark. He was like another son to us. He always had a smile and enjoyed life. May he rest in peace. God comfort his family and friends. Luv you Jake!
