Linda Ann Baetsle
February 11, 2018
Linda Ann Baetsle, 57, passed away on February 11, 2018 in Des Moines. She was born on October 2, 1960 in Marengo, Iowa to James and Dixie (McDonald) Baetsle.
Linda graduated from SEP in 1979. She worked at various jobs and recently had been a horse groomer in Louisville, Kentucky where she became ill. Her passion in life was horses. She worked with them for years at different race tracks. In addition to horses, Linda also loved Basset Hounds. Her first was named Maggie. Shortly, after Linda bought Maggie, Gary told her he had a surprise. The “surprise” was a large male Basset Hound whom they named Bufford. Together, Bufford and Maggie had Otis. She later had one named Sage. Linda’s love of dogs developed at an early age with her childhood dogs Punky and Bambi. She had a giving nature and was always willing to babysit for Angie and Katie and Tyler. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed playing Pollock Poker, rooting hard for the Minnesota Vikings, and listening to Country music such as George Strait and Toby Keith who she had the opportunity to meet.
She leaves to mourn her 3 children, Taylor Baetsle, Blair Baetsle and Thomas Bell; parents, Jim and Dixie Baetsle; sister, Becky (Joe) Seidenkranz; brother, Robbie (Denise) Baetsle; ex-husband and friend, Gary Sage; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 also at the funeral home followed by burial at Altoona Cemetery.
