David N. Ruffcorn, Sr.

David Ruffcorn, Sr., 73, passed away February 4, 2018, at Kavanagh Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born February 18, 1944, in Des Moines, to Claude and Delma Ruffcorn.
David retired from Allied Construction after more than 35 years of service.
David is survived his loving wife of 53 years, Karen Ruffcorn; sons, David Ruffcorn, Jr. and Donald (Jodi) Ruffcorn; grandsons, Ryan, Jason, Randall, Konrad, and Logan Ruffcorn; brother, Claude (Candi) Medici; sister, Claudia (Jerry) Volz; as well as other loving family and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Roger Ruffcorn, and his parents, Claude and Delma.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to HCI Care Services-Kavanagh on 56th or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in loving memory of David.

David was a wonderful person and a friend all through my time at school in Ankeny I last saw him about twenty years ago when Rex Lamberty and I met him for a round of golf in Ankeny. I have missed him for all time I lived after leaving Iowa. RIP my friend.
