Cynthia Owens

Cynthia Lynne Owens, 53, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She was born July 9, 1964 to Albert and Patricia (Entsminger) Griebe in Des Moines.

Cindy graduated from Carlisle High School and worked as a CNA for Mercy Home Care for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, shopping and camping

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Rick; children, Heather (Steve) Griebe, Ashley (Kevin) Leonard, Matthew (Alex) Tabor, Cori (Josh) Tabor, Stephanie (Troy) Tilton and Lynnae (Will) Henry; grandchildren, Alison, Olivia, Clinton, Kinsley, Owen, Mackenzie, Lasha, Nenee and Toni; sister, Shirley Griebe; brothers, Albert Griebe, Jr. and Morgan (Mel) Griebe; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Patricia (Entsminger) Griebe; her in-laws, Bob and Joy Owens; sister, Dawn Dade; and her granddaughter, Gemma Lynne Tabor.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, February 2nd at the funeral home. Cindy will be laid to rest at Avon Cemetery.
