Rodney Eugene Holloway

Rodney Eugene Holloway, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rising Sun Church of Christ, 6390 NE Rising Sun Dr. in Pleasant Hill, IA.

Rod was born December 24, 1931 in Burwell, NE to Vaun (Brown) and Seward Holloway. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was the assistant to the Chaplain. Rod was the ultimate people person and worked as a realtor with ReMax for over 40 years. He loved cards and gambling and had a position as a dealer at the casino in Osceola. It was always Rod’s passion to keep busy or be traveling on a road trip.

He is survived by his children, Jim (Melody), Mark, and Susan (Tom) Hess; grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon and Marissa Holloway, and Andrew and Megan Hess; his sister, Trudie (Dan) DePasquale; and sister-in-law, Nancy Brenden. Rod was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; and brother, Emory.
