Carolyn Twogood, 76, passed away on January 25, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa on April 17, 1941, to Keith and Carrie (DeVore) Wymer.

Carolyn loved to read, spend time with her family especially her children and grandchildren playing dominos, read her bible and listen to music especially listening to her nephew Brandon Darner’s band play. She also had a love of people; she was a very caring and giving person. But most importantly, she loved her husband Dennis. She and Dennis were married on January 16, 1960, and spent 58 loving years together. Carolyn and Dennis would spend many evenings at Perkins which was her favorite restaurant to go to with her family.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dennis; children, Denise (Dennis) Songer, Suzanne (Jeff) Moore, Jennifer Lansman, and Derek (Jeorjette) Twogood; grandchildren, Josiah, Tahisha, Danielle, Zachery, Tyler, Elijah, Brent, Gianna, Rosie, and Derek; 19 great grandchildren; her siblings, Carlene “Kay” (Robert) Kiral, Larry Wymer, Jerry (Sharon) Wymer, Phyllis (Wayne) Whitmer, Jayne (Ray) Darner, William (Connie) Wymer, Joseph (Sharyl) Wymer, and Donald (Neila Franco) Wymer; and many other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Connie Crane; great grandchild, Oliver Ring; nephew, Jeremiah Whitmer; and her stepfather, Roy Hull.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50313, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the funeral home.
