Thurmadene R. Garrison

Thurmadene R. Garrison, 83, passed away on January 24, 2018, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny. She was born in Knoxville, Iowa, on March 23, 1934, the daughter of Thurman and Bertha Lester.

Thurmadene was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. She worked for JCPenney for many years and enjoyed cooking, baking, and activities with her neighbors at Lake Ponderosa.

Thurmadene is survived by her husband, Phillip Garrison; children, John (Cindy) Garrison, Nancy Le Blanc and JayDee (Rhonda) Garrison; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Garrison; son-in-law, J.D. Le Blanc; parents, Thurman and Ruth Lester; and sisters, Mary and Virginia.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
