Patricia Marie Morse
January 19, 2018
Patricia Marie “Patty” Morse, 69, passed away unexpectedly January 19, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Patty was born March 27, 1948, to Orbin Woodrow and Helen Marie Hanks.
Patty retired in 2016 from Adventureland where she worked for 38 years. Patty met John Morse at North High School, and they married December 17, 1968. Together they had two children who they adored, son Jeffrey Brian and daughter Jill Marie. Patty and John had just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
Patty will be remembered for being one of a kind. She was funny, full of laughter, and very passionate. Whether it was indulging in “Say Yes to the Dress” with her granddaughters, sharing her chocolate almond ice cream, going to multiple ball games and recitals or art shows with her grandchildren, she will be especially remembered for her great advice, “stay elegant” and “you need a little more blush." Everyone simply loved “Grandma Patty.”
Left to cherish her memory are her husband John; son, Jeff (Jackie); daughter, Jill Morse Heimerman; five grandchildren, Grant and Cassandra Morse, and Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Lauren Heimerman; sister, Pam (Greg) Kenyon; brothers Orbin Charles (Cindy) Hanks, Steve Hanks, and John (Cyndi) Hanks; along with many nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, in-laws, and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Altoona Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SE, Altoona. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut Street, Ankeny.

What a beautiful write up for a beautiful person. My heart is broken right now. BFF since we were 13 in junior high school, when she moved from Dallas. Gone way too soon. I will always love her and cherish my memories. Love to John, Jeff, Jill, Pammy, and all the family.
