Dale Stevenson

Dale Stevenson, born June 29, 1968, passed away April 26, 2008, after a long, hard battle with cancer. Dale worked at Don’s Auto Salvage for many years. He loved the fast life and tried it all with his best friend Casey. During the last few years, he enjoyed trips to NASCAR races in Kansas City, Bristol, Tennessee, and Newton, Iowa, as well as trips to Oregon.
Dale is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Jeff, daughter Shannon, and a grand-daughter to be born in May; he wanted very much to see her born. Dale is also survived by his mother Jackie Stevenson-Sloan, his stepfather Larry Sloan; three brothers Dennis, Larry, and Bob Sr. Stevenson of Des Moines; grandparents Bob and Shirley Sowles of Des Moines; three nephews, 5 nieces, one grand-nephew; and best friend Casey Risius.
He was preceded in death by his dad Mike Stevenson and nephew James Cunningham.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings, April 30th and May 1st. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St., Des Moines, Iowa.
