Donna Klauenburch

Donna Klauenburch 76, of Des Moines, Iowa died Friday, December 15, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Park Ave. Christian Church. Following the service the family will greet friends at the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to the family.
Donna was born November 19, 1930 in Eldora, Iowa to Max and Zada Smith. She was married to Kenneth Klauenburch in 1952 and that marriage was later dissolved but they remained friends. Donna attended and graduated from High School in 1948 in Eldora, Iowa. She was involved in basketball and played alto saxophone in the band. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1951 and continued her nursing career throughout her lifetime. She was on the board for the Mercy College Nursing Alumni Association. She was a member of the Nursing Sorority Beta Sigma Phi. Donna was an active member and baptized into Christ at Park Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines.
She is survived by two sons, David (Lisa) Klauenburch and Danny Klauenburch of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Danielle Harding & Kristi Klauenburch, both of Des Moines; a brother, Bill (Kay) Smith of New Providence, IA; her former spouse & friend Kenneth Klauenburch; two very good friends that helped her while she was ill, Julie Welch of Des Moines and Terri Harding of Moravia, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, James.
