Neva Jane Davis

Neva J. Davis was born January 29, 1946, in Pleasantville Iowa to Charles and Marie Raney. She passed away peacefully Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines surrounded by her loving family.

Neva was an avid animal lover and dreamed of being a truck driver. She took great pride in her accomplishment of going back to school and receiving her degree in nursing. Neva worked for many years in the health care field before retiring to care for her sister.

She is survived by her children, Angela (Michael) Billings, Benita Church, Kathy (Alfonso) Medina, Richard (Phyllis) Luna, Michelle (Humberto) Salazar, Sonja Luna, Jason (Krissi) Luna, Celeste (Roberto) Hernandez and Joseph Luna; sister, Peggy Raney; 32 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Farrell; brother, Ernie Greenland; son-in-law, David Church; step-father, John Collis.

A celebration of Neva’s life will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 4:00 pm, at the Service Center Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
