Samantha Grace Knaub was born September 5, 2015, to Devin and Alexandra Knaub. She loved her siblings above all else. Her favorite pastime was playing with her big sis, Katie. Sammi was such a troublemaker with endless energy, that she earned herself the nickname “The Destructinator”. She was always climbing, playing and dancing the “Sammi Stomp”. In her quieter moments, she liked puzzles and coloring. Some of her favorite treats were donuts, ice cream and sprinkles.
Sammi brought joy to everyone! She always did what she could to make others smile. She loved Jesus and learned a lot being read the Bible. She had the most inspired prayers to Jesus that she delivered with joy.
Sammi went home on Sunday, January 7, 2018. She passed peacefully surrounded by the unending love of her family.
She is survived by her mommy and daddy, Alexandra and Devin; her siblings, Katie, David and Lincoln; grandparents, Robert and Denise Knaub and Guy and Deidre Dougherty; and many other family and friends.
There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, at Cottage Grove Church, 1050 24th Street in Des Moines, with a luncheon to follow.

My heart just breaks and then fills with peace knowing Jesus with you. She and my Ada would have been fast buddies. Continuing to cover you guys in earnest prayer. I have zero doubt that countless lives are going to be changed because of her story. Kids loved stronger, salvation, freedom, increases in faith, parents slowing down, cherishing more things, changes in prayer lives, and much more. I know it was a joy to be her parents and Im just so sad it didnt get to be for your whole life. Praising constantly that you walk in step with the creator of it all and that she is there with Him. Oh whew, to be with Jesus! How amazing it will be to see her again. Love to all!
