George Boylan

George J. Boylan, 83, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Thursday at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 12 noon Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8pm at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
George was born August 9, 1924 in Des Moines to Margaret and George Boylan. George retired from Iowa Methodist as a carpenter. George was proud to have served in the US Army during World War II as an anti aircraft gunner. He enjoyed making things with his hands. George loved spending time with his family. He loved his pet companion, Dollie.
He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Wisecup, Linda Boylan and Georgeann Williams; his 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Darlene, his brothers, Howard and John and his grandsons, Ronnie and Michael.
