William R. Pecher, 75, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the VA Central Iowa Health Care Systems in Des Moines, Iowa.

William was born in Brooklyn, Iowa to Rudolph and Ruth Pecher on September 7, 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years as an Engineer. William was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed coin collecting and spending time with his family.

Billy is survived by his wife, Leilani; children, John Nielsen –Pecher, Dana and Michael Leard; grandchildren Zach and Noah Leard; and sisters, Grace Niccum and Betty Uthoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barb Fisher; brother-in-law, Art Uthoff.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
