Patricia A. Walsh

Patricia A. Walsh, 75, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Patricia was born June 5, 1942, in Flint, Michigan to Louise and John Metzger. She spent many years in Chicago before moving to Des Moines, where she spent the majority of her life. She held various positions in business, accounting, and office work. Patricia enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, fishing and watching movies. Above all else, she loved time with her two grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Leigh (husband, Jon) Heaverlo; son, Bill Walsh; grandchildren, Lucas and Katie Heaverlo; and her sister, Jean Riscavage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and John Metzger; brother, John Metzger; and sister, Barbara Wendt.

Funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will follow from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
