Bessie Arrowood

Bessie L. Arrowood, 91, of Des Moines died on December 15, 2006 at the Hospice Kavanagh on Grand in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Bessie was a lifelong member of the Berean Assembly of God Church where her passion was teaching children’s ministry. For the last 20 years she had been attending the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. During WW II she worked at the Fairgrounds Ammunition Plant.
She is survived by her son Pastor Richard (Irene) Arrowood of Des Moines, her grandchildren Rick (Kerie) Arrowood of Des Moines, Kristi (Paul) Robinson of Costa Rica and Denise (Scott) O’Mealy of Norwalk as well as her great grandchildren Chantelle and Anthony Moroné of Minneapolis, Chelsea Cleveland and Nina Arrowood of Des Moines, Jasmine and Aja Robinson of Cost Rica, Chelsey Johnson of Norwalk and Caleb O’Mealy of Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur.
The family will greet friends from 3-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God children’s ministry.
