M. Pauline “Polly” Israel went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Polly was a lifelong “Eastsider” and an avid Cubs fan. She is survived by her sons, Jim (Tracy) and Tim (Terri), daughter, Lynn (Tom) Murrane, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Blackford, daughter, Kim, sister, Jean, and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private family burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Mercy Hospice or New Life Church.

My condolences to all for the loss of Polly. She and Blackie were the best cheerleaders at the East Des Moines soccer and Grandview Little League baseball games. I so appreciated how they supported and encouraged all the team members. I know Kyle felt the same. May those special memories bring you comfort at this time and a smile knowing how special Polly was.

So sorry for your loss. It has been many years since ive seen Ms Israel but her and Blackie, as we called him at Spizmans, were great people to know. Ms Israel was always smiling and ill never forget the, eye roll, she would give to Blackie when he was joking around! Remember the past and cherish your memories.
