Olive Miller-Lust, 94, passed away on December 19, 2017, at her home in Altoona Iowa, surrounded by her family. She was born in Oakley, Iowa on October 25, 1923, to John and Nellie Stanger.

Olive came to know the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior when she was a young child. She and her family attended church at Grandview Park Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Woodside High School.

She met her first husband Lloyd Miller, at the Rock Island Station where he worked with her dad. They were married during WWII just a day before he shipped out for another naval invasion. Once Dad returned from his deployment, they moved to Des Moines where they bought their first house. They had three children: Priscilla Miller of Altoona, Lyle Miller of Altoona, and Yontz (Barb) Miller of Gig Harbor, Washington.

Mom and Dad were active serving the Lord in Des Moines, St Charles, Iowa City, Muscatine, Webster City, and Boone Iowa.

She was an amazing wife and mother. She helped her husband serve the Lord as a pastor’s wife. Mom enjoyed family, cooking, reading and playing games.

After Dad’s death, she married Ed Lust. They were married in Camp Sherman, Oregon

Olive is survived by her three children; grandson Yontz A (Lillie) Miller of Tacoma WA; Great Grandchildren Eli and Indie; her siblings Virginia Holt of Des Moines, Paul Stanger of Altoona and Marcia Kenimer of Ohio; her step children Gene (Judy) Lust, Garry Lust and Cheryl (Johnny) Johnston; and numerous step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; and her brothers JD, Yontz and Mace Stanger.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 23, at Altoona Regular Baptist Church, 803 3rd Avenue SW, with burial to follow at Bondurant Cemetery. There will be a visitation held Friday, December 22, from 5pm to 8pm at the Funeral Home

Memorial contributions may be directed to Mt. Shadows Baptist Church for its building fund – Ryan and Joy Lundquist’s church in Pueblo West, Colorado or Baptist Mid Missions for Projects in Peru – Stephen and Evelyn Stilwell’s ministry.
