Larry Ray Perkins, 74, was called home Friday, December 15, 2017. A Hero and the best Daddy ever to His 2 Daughters, Kris(Jon)Perkins-Buehler and Kimberly Perkins. A Superhero Grandfather to Alexis, Rylan and Brock. Adored by His Great Grandson, Sawyer. The best Big Brother to Richard (Alice) and Mark Perkins.
Not much Larry could not fix with his quick mind and strong hands. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 8 years. You could find Larry most of his days outside doing what he loved most, working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Betty Perkins, and his beloved dog China.
He showed nothing but strength and determination during his 12-year battle with cancer. Cancer never took his amazing smile and charisma away. He took his last breath with Kim holding him and kissing his forehead as Kris comforted him with loving words.
Family and Friends, please join us in celebrating Larry's beautiful life with us. Saturday, January 13, 2018. The District Venue, 1350 SW Vintage Parkway, Ankeny, IA. Family will be present starting at 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm Funeral Flag Presentation, followed by sharing stories and celebrating Larry's wonderfulness into the night.

Kim and Kris I am so sorry to hear this, I remember your dad very fondly especially when he coached our softball team. I remember his smile and his kindness and especially his sense of humor. GOD gained another angel and he will always be with you. my thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Larry at Medical Oncology. I was very sad to hear he lost his battle with cancer. He was always a pleasure to see and we had many talks about his family and his travels. I'm sure he was very loved by his family and a man I will always remember, sleep with the angels Larry :) You will be missed.
