Harold "Gene" Allison

Gene Allison, age 80, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Gene was born January 5th, 1937, to Harold and Maxine (Owens) Allison.
His pride and joy were his sons and grandchildren, never missing a sporting event they were participating in. You could always find him in front of the T.V. rooting on his beloved Hawkeyes. Gene spent many years as a draftsman at Bishop Engineering before his retirement.
Gene is survived by his wife, Claudine; sons, Kent (Sudz) Allison and Craig Allison; step-son David Shelledy; step-daughter Dina (Bill) Gray; grandchildren, Hannah Allison, Haden Allison, Jessica Drake, Chelsea (Bill) Wright, Ashley (Ben) Harshbarger, Austin Allison, and Aryn (Ron) Dill; step-grandchildren, Joshua Shelledy and Jordan Shelledy and Christina Gray, Michelle Gray, and Kyle Gray; great-grandchildren, Tristin, Mason, Kael, Travis, Marley, Olive, Magnolia, Natalie, Maya, and Kenadee; and many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Sandra Allison and brother, Denny Allison.
Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017, with funeral service following at 1 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at McDivitt Grove Cemetery in Urbandale.

Claudine and family, I am grieving your loss! I am so sorry I cannot be there to support you, but I hurt my leg and can barely walk. I will come and spend a few days with you as soon as I can. My thoughts, love and prayers are with you, my friend!
