Gary Sellner

Gary L. Sellner, 76, died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.

Gary was born January 14, 1941 in Des Moines to Pete and Marvel (Hoffman) Sellner. He graduated from Johnston High School in 1959. Gary retired from Pirelli-Armstrong in 1990. After retirement, he went to work for Des Moines Public Schools. Gary loved to go on fishing trips to Heyward, Wisconsin, always trying to catch that big Muskie. He also enjoyed getting together with his high school classmates for Saturday breakfasts. Gary loved spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda; children, Paula (Andrew Copeland) Rubino, Jill (James) Schroeder and Jeff Sellner.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
