Michael Clayton

Michael Clayton, 58, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, due to lung cancer.
Michael was born in Des Moines on November 27, 1959 and was the youngest child of Graham and Helen Clayton. He graduated from North High School in 1978 and worked in the Des Moines area his entire life.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Miller (Chris); three grandchildren; brother, Gary (Shari); sister, Linda Westergaard (Neal); and sister, Carol Ann Shannon (Rik). He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessica, and his parents.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical and nursing staff at Broadlawns Medical Center who were always supportive and compassionate when caring for Michael. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael’s name may be directed to Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Bright Grandview Golf Course clubhouse, 2401 E 29th St, Des Moines. At 3:00 pm, there will be an opportunity for guests to share stories, thoughts, and memories of Michael.

I was very sorry to hear about the loss of Mike. I worked with Mike for several years and he was one of the hardest workers I've ever known. Very kind, helpful, compassionate, and loyal to his fellow coworkers. Your family will be in my prayers.
