Judith Margaret Johnson, 71, passed away December 4, 2017. Services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church, 2208 Des Moines St. in Des Moines with visitation one hour prior.
Judy was born September 13, 1946 in Des Moines, IA to Margaret (Dayton) and Harold Harner. She graduated from North High School in 1964 and Iowa State University in 1968. Judy owned numerous small businesses throughout her life, notably Classic Coupe in Des Moines and later worked at the Easy Live Store in Urbandale. But her primary career and most important focus was being a loving wife and mother. Above all else, Judy treasured time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Juliet, TN and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and attending car shows with her husband, Kurt.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 35 years, Kurt Johnson; her children, Daniel (Ginny) Newell, Stephanie (Brent) Oliver and Jay Johnson; grandchildren, Christian, Casey, Clarissa (Dalton), Jay Ryan, James, Samuel, David and Katelynn; her brother, Ronald Harner; and special sister, Deb Sheetz; along with other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Marvin Harner.
